An off-grid guide to dreaming homeplaces, Radio Dreaming whisks listeners over limestone hills, fragile boglands and into honeycomb caves to encounter an inspirational mythology of voices, dreams and traditional Irish music.

Contemporary artists Anna Keleher (Devon, England) and Claire Coté (New Mexico, USA) have been busy “DREAMING PLACE” at Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark on the island of Ireland. Now an international audience can share their sonic adventures via a series of radio broadcasts woven from their experiences. Based on an ancient Celtic tradition that the land remembers everything, Radio Dreaming explores how lands speak through dreamers.

“DREAMING PLACE is about deepening and illuminating our relationship with Place and we are excited to be sharing our project with audiences around the globe. Radio is an exciting medium enabling Artists to reach people in their own homes even in very rural settings,” says Claire.

Wild camping, drawing, kayaking and encountering the people, places, creatures and things of the cross-border Geopark, this 5-part radio adventure takes listeners overground and underground in search of edible landscapes, wild dreams, and myths of the land. Journey with Anna and Claire into the heartlands of this very special landscape alive with bee song and stories.

“Our broadcasts give protagonism to non-human as well as human voices of the Geopark. We hope that Radio Dreaming inspires others to listen and share stories in their own homeplaces,” says Anna.

Anna and Claire’s successful international collaboration began in 2007 during their M.A studies in Arts and Ecology at Dartington College of Arts, Devon, England. When Claire returned to her native New Mexico, they promised to meet up again, but this time in Ireland. Together they make audio journeys, radio broadcasts, drawings, sculptural installations and performative events. After their arts-led field work, they continue collaborating from their contrasting home places via internet technologies.
